Science Online watch party
The 2013 Science Online conference experimented a with a format that allowed other locations to broadcast part of the conference at an official “Watch Party”. I co-organised the London Watch Party.
When several commissioned artist-painted DNA helices appeared in London, courtesy of CRUK, I used social media to coordinate a walking tour past many of the sculptures.
Meetups as part of outreach and awareness campaigns
While working for scientific publishers, I coordinated several casual gatherings where researchers could meet each other and our team. We used this as an opportunity to introduce them to new features, but also as a chance to get to know our users and listen to their input and experiences.
